// OnionPages Is Back: Another Attempt at Censorship

By Thomas  ·  June 2, 2026

News

OnionPages is a free darknet news and onion resource portal dedicated to educating users about the darknet and providing guidance for safely navigating it. Due to the nature of our content, we have repeatedly faced takedown attempts and various forms of censorship over time. From our initial domain suspension over two years ago to recent blocks by Cloudflare, we have encountered multiple disruptions. The latest occurred just days ago, when our VPS provider terminated our server.

What Happened

Yesterday, we received a notification from our VPS provider stating that our service had been suspended due to our domain being “blacklisted.” After further inquiry, we were informed that our website could no longer be hosted on their platform. It remains unclear whether this decision was based on an internal review or the result of a third-party report or external pressure. In response, we quickly migrated our services to a new hosting provider to restore availability.

Impact & Future Precautions

As a result of the suspension, we lost all data from the past month, including recently published articles as well as user accounts, comments, and reviews created during that period. This was due to our reliance on monthly manual backups, which proved insufficient. To prevent similar issues in the future, we are implementing more frequent automated backups and improving our overall data resilience. We will also be manually restoring all lost articles. Users who registered within the past month are advised to re-register if they are unable to log in.

Moving Forward

OnionPages is now back online and fully operational. Following the server migration, we are taking this opportunity to restructure our backend systems to improve reliability, performance, and resistance to external disruptions. This transition is still ongoing, and some temporary instability may occur over the next few weeks as we complete major infrastructure updates.
